This policy explains what personal information LottoFun (lottofun.co.za) processes, why, and your rights under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
LottoFun is run by the LottoFun team in South Africa. For any privacy question or request, email YOUR-EMAIL.
Information we process
- Website visits. When you visit, our hosting provider and our security and delivery provider (Cloudflare) process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
- Ticket checker. When you use the checker, the selected draw and the numbers you enter are sent to our server, compared with the result and returned to you. We do not store them, and you do not need an account.
- Quick Pick. Random numbers are generated in your own browser and are not sent to us.
- Emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. Please do not send ID documents, banking details or ticket barcodes.
- Your privacy choice. Your decision to allow or reject optional services is saved in your browser (see our Cookies Policy).
Optional analytics and advertising
If we use Google Analytics or Google AdSense, they load only after you choose “Allow optional” in the privacy banner. These providers may then use cookies and similar identifiers under their own privacy policies. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy choices” link in the footer.
Why we use information
We use information to run and secure the website, to answer your messages, to investigate reported errors and, where you allow it, to understand how the site is used and to show advertising. We process information on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interest in running a secure website, or a legal obligation.
Who receives information
Information is shared only with service providers that help us run the website: our web hosting provider, Cloudflare, our email provider and, if you allow them, Google’s analytics and advertising services. Some of these providers process information outside South Africa; we only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable with POPIA. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Server and security logs are kept by our hosting and security providers only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
Your rights
You may ask us whether we hold personal information about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Email YOUR-EMAIL and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
LottoFun is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy when our services change. The current version is always on this page.
